Recently, I read an article that forced me to reflect on how history is shaped and shared. It was about a Black tenant farmer in Mississippi who experienced finding a meteorite. When the story was published, the identity of tenant farmer was replaced with the owner of the farm. From the stroke of a pen and the power of storytelling, ones' place in history had been completely altered, almost.
Such is the storytelling of the Negro Amaro. Its precise origins are debatable, its name is shrouded in indifference, and its presence is obscure. What we do know is its unmistakable character: The deep dark black color exudes its complex notes.
Showing up with a great mouthfeel, strong structure, notes of dark chocolate, black licorice and rich berries, this wine itself is a Storyteller- a narrative that demands to be heard.
