Sauvignon Blanc - 2023

Yearning for something nostalgic? You might just find it in fermented grapes, and it makes a lot of sense. As children of a “particular Era,” we were encouraged to play in the dirt and put it in our mouths! I can still taste the grittiness and woodiness of the red dirt in a small Northern Arizona town called McNary (Apache Land). 

Those were the times when my southern grandparents, who migrated from Quincy, Louisiana, would slice a lemon, add a pinch of salt, and hand it to you to savor: a southern thing. Bring on the dill pickles and for good measure, a little instant Kool-Aid mix coupled with sugar and salt! 

There are moments when the need for smell, touch, and taste is needed, as comfort. Our Sauvignon Blanc has been the wine to the rescue. The tartness/acidity of lemon, slight white peach on the palate, and crispness remind me of what the sound of the bite into a very firm dill pickle would taste like. Refreshing moments in a glass…
