Tannat - 2022

Note to self…” Kids are sponges, and I was just gifted with the presence of one.

While walking my dogs, Bliss (a Golden Retriever) and Glory (a Gordon Setter) at a local park, a young girl approached. She was star-struck with Bliss. At that same moment you could almost see her emotional IQ in action. She smoothly without glancing my way transferred her attention onto Glory, “You’re pretty, too.” Keep in mind Glory was very much noticing the attention Bliss was receiving.

Even if the young girl had no true interest in Glory, she knew it was the right thing to do. Her gesture was for Glory, her parents' hard work, and my empathy for my girls.

How does this correlate with Tannat? It’s a memorable experience I’ll never forget, and will always travel back to.

The moment did not carry, spice, dark chocolate and licorice like Tannat, but what it did carry was a sweetness that was subtle, but there, much like Tannat.
